Faith Advisory Councils act as a forum for faith leaders to come
together to learn about childhood obesity, network and partner with
other faith communities and agencies, connect to and share
resources, and develop community-based, policy and environmental
solutions to childhood obesity.

Faith Advisory Councils are comprised of faith leaders
and community agencies from throughout San Diego County.
These regionally-based workgroups operate within the framework of
the Community Domain, and currently convene in the North County and
South Bay. Faith Advisory Councils are designed to support faith
leaders in modeling healthy practices and advocating for
improvements in the food and physical activity environment. Regular
meetings provide faith leaders a venue for learning about childhood
obesity, networking, connecting to and sharing resources, and
developing community-based, policy and environmental solutions to
