Sub-Committee Focus Areas

BHWT sub-committee efforts have informed and contributed to the development of a number of mental/behavioral health resources, projects and programs:

Independent Living Association:  The Independent Living Association supports and promotes high quality Independent Livings in San Diego County.  Visit the ILA Website (www.ilasd.org) for tools and resources about Independent Livings and other supportive housing, and a searchable database of Independent Livings in San Diego County.

Check Your Mood: The Community Health Improvement Partners’ (CHIP) Behavioral Health Work Team is collaborating with other San Diego County organizations, to offer free information and depression screenings during Check Your Mood San Diego Depression Screening Week, October 10-16, 2016. During this week, residents of San Diego County over the age of 18 will have the opportunity to visit designated sites to receive a free, anonymous, depression screening, and learn about the signs and symptoms of depression, anxiety disorder, postpartum depression and other topics related to depression.

San Diego Mental Health History Project: The San Diego Mental Health History project is collaboration of the San Diego Behavioral Health Work Team. Using Story Corps, we interviewed people who have contributed to the development of San Diego’s mental health recovery culture. Through these conversations, we celebrate our community’s dedication to continue to improve the lives of those living with behavioral health challenges.
