Our Research

CHIP is a leading source of original food systems research in San Diego County. CHIP conducts regular market research to improve the quantity and quality of information available on buyers and sellers in the market for local/regional food. Examples include an annual San Diego County Crop Availability Chart, Farm to School Profiles, State of Farm to School reports, and more. In addition, CHIP maintains and strategically shares a database of over 800 San Diego County and Southern California farms.

CHIP also leads or supports food systems research for initiatives including the San Diego Childhood Obesity Initiative, REACH Chula Vista, San Diego Food Systems Alliance, San Diego Hunger Coalition, the County of San Diego, and other statewide partners.
