Cindy Whitmarsh
Cindy Whitmarsh is a licensed sports nutritionist. She is the president and owner of Ultrafit Nutrition Systems, Inc.; Ultrafit Food on the Go! and Ultrafit Kids, Inc. Cindy is highly-sought throughout San Diego for her health and fitness knowledge. She is currently a fitness expert for KUSI news. She is also a nutrition and fitness consultant for the San Diego Charger girls and some of the top San Diego Charger football players. Chris Searles
Dr. Chris Searles is an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He is board certified in both family medicine and psychiatry and is the Director of the UCSD Combined Family Medicine and Psychiatry residency program. His clinical practice is focused exclusively on the underserved and uninsured. Dr. Searles is also a member of the National Initiative for Children's Healthcare Quality and is on the clinical subcommittee for childhood obesity. He is also a member of the healthcare sector of HEAC (Healthy Eating, Active Communities) in Chula Vista where he lives. His professional interests include connecting area physicians and their patients to community resources to improve health across ages and cultures and enhance access to care for the underserved. Irma Sanchez
Irma Sanchez is a graduate of San Diego State University (SDSU) with a degree in physical education. She has worked with various organizations: City of San Diego Park and Recreation department, YMCA of San Diego county 6 to 6 programs, and currently San Diego Unified School District. She has worked as an instructional aide, club adviser, coach, camp director, activity coordinator, recreation leader and physical education specialist. As a P.E. Specialist for elementary students today her goal is to provide the students with a wealth of information in health, recreational activities and sports.


Kailin Terrill
Kailin Terrill leads the Business Development department for BikeBandit.com. Kailin also personally promotes physically activity, and will complete her 4th marathon in 2 weeks in Portland, Oregon. Her goals are to run her next marathon in under 3 hours and to someday complete the Kona Ironman. Her enthusiasm for running combined with the support of the Network for a Healthy California, has encouraged several employees to take up running and walking on their breaks and during their free time. A group of 7 employees became so interested that Kailin worked with them to train for their first 5K which they completed on September 29th. Many of them have continued their training and will run their first half marathon at Silver Strand in November. For more information contact: www.bikebandit.com.


Lakeysha Sowunmi
Lakeysha "Ms.Fitness" Sowunmi is currently in the United States Navy. She's been a service member for 8 years, while fighting for the country she also believes in fighting for health and fitness for everyone. She has a passion for educating people about the importance of eating right and being physically active everyday. She is the owner of Per~Fit, which offers personal training sessions focusing on long-term goals, not just short-term goals. She also helps her church incorporate the Fit Club program into the American Cancer Society Body and Soul program. Body and Soul allows her to teach people about eating more fruits and vegetables daily through cooking demos, fruit/veggie stands, and health awareness seminars at the church. With the Fit Club, every month they participate in physical activity events, such as walkathons, basketball tournaments, and mountain hiking trips. Ms. Sowunmi is available by email.


Peter Newman
Peter Newman is the General Manager for SSD COMPANY LIMITED / XaviX and oversees all U.S. operations for SSD's proprietary interactive technology, XaviX, and other business since 2004. Peter supports international efforts from SSD's U.S. headquarters in San Diego, California. Since 2005 Peter and SSD have been working with schools and youth organizations to implement XaviX Technology as a way to motivate kids and youth to engage in physical activity as a way to combat obesity. To this day, XaviX is being used in schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, recreation centers, and gyms in more than 35 States. Since 2006 Peter has been speaking about XaviX and 21st Century Youth Fitness at various conferences, schools, and events. These include the SGMA's 1st Annual Sports + Technology Convergence, IDEA's 2007 World Fitness Convention, and the 2007 PE4life-Kansas City School District In-Service Fair. Peter and SSD are members of the NAHF (National Association for Health and Fitness), IDEA, and the SGMA (Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association). They are partners with PE4life and a President's Challenge Physical Activity and Fitness Awards Program Advocate. Peter has been involved in athletics for more than 25 years both as a player and a coach and to this day still plays competitive flag football.
