Gift of Health Mission:

Help ensure access to medical and dental care for uninsured children of San Diego County by sponsoring the payment of low cost health care premiums for children in low-income families.

Because there is a need to find creative solutions to financing care for those who cannot afford health care premiums, CHIP has developed the GIFT OF HEALTH program. The GIFT OF HEALTH program is composed of two components:

• The first component provides corporate or individual sponsorship by providing monetary support. The GIFT OF HEALTH PROGRAM will establish a pool of funds, which will subsidize health care premiums and thus enable children to obtain adequate healthcare.
  

• The second component of the GIFT OF HEALTH PROGRAM is the selection and distribution of funds. Families will be selected based on the information provided on the nomination form by a selection committee consisting of CHIP, SD KHAN, and other community members on a bi-weekly basis.
